Use Scenarios

Content Body
The following scenarios present uses to help you understand possible ways for ICOT to meet user needs. There are many variations that can be developed to address specific goals.
Teacher
Observations provide documentation of how a teacher may be changing practice, adopting technology, and/or addressing teacher technology standards (NETS*T). This might support a professional development program, grant or beginning teacher program that supports individuals in implementation of technology in teaching and learning experiences.
Site
A principal can document technology use during classroom visits to identify how technology tools and strategies are being used at their site. ICOT supports the administrator or technology committee answering the following example questions, however there are many other questions that could be explored. How is new technology, software, or professional development being implemented? What instructional strategies and student groupings are being used in classrooms to support learning. What professional development is needed?
Project
ICOT supports project document for a program, grant, or research. Observations in project classrooms documents progress, implementation, progress toward goals, stages of development and formative assessment.
District
Creating visions, documenting best practices and strategic planning are areas that might require the use of ICOT to support planning and evaluation of a program.
